Course Objectives
This course will review the EPA Arsenic Rule and different Arsenic removal devices and methods. This course will cover water and wastewater fundamentals/principles along with basic chemistry. This course is general in nature and not state specific. You will not need any other materials for this course.
Course Goals
Drinking water, wastewater and process water each have "clean water" issues based on the function of the water. Drinking water must meet various federal and state standards for consumption, while wastewater and process waters effluent are regulated by National Pollution Discharge Elimination Standards (NPDES).
Course Outcomes
  1. The student will be able to understand and describe wastewater treatment processes.
  2. The student will be able to understand and describe analysis of water quality criteria-microorganisms, bacteria and terminology.
  3. The student will be able to understand and describe specific operation and components of clarifiers, and filtration methods.
  4. The student will be able to understand and describe activated sludge processes, procedures - wastewater treatment corrective concerns and measures.
